Rainbow Haven
Rainbow Haven is located 9 km east of Quigley’s Corner near Eastern Passage and just 10 mins from Cole Harbour. This large sand-and-cobble beach has boardwalks, changing houses, and showers. Supervised swimming in July and August.

Martinique Beach Provincial Park
Martinique Beach Provincial Park is the longest sandy beach in Nova Scotia. Visitors can enjoy this 5-km crescent white-sand beach, with its open and wooded picnic areas located behind sand dunes.
Park features include beachcombing, boardwalks and hard-surfaced paths. Martinique is a protected area for the piping plover, as well as a wildlife refuge for migratory waterfowl.
Martinique Beach Provincial Park is situated in East Petpeswick, 11 km /7 mi south of Musquodoboit Harbour in the Eastern Shore region. (From Halifax take either Highway 107 or 207 to Musquodoboit Harbour and turn right onto East Petpeswick.
MacCormacks Beach Provincial Park
MacCormacks Beach Provincial Park is in the Eastern Shore region at Eastern Passage (turn right at Quigley’s Corner, parking lot on right). Adjacent to the popular Fisherman’s Cove, the park features an extensive boardwalk that is wheelchair accessible and provides a beautiful view of Eastern Passage, McNabs, Lawlor and Devil’s Islands, Eastern Passage, and Halifax Harbour. A few picnic shelters are available.

Lawrencetown Beach
Lawrencetown Beach is a provincial beach park 19 km (12 mi) east of Dartmouth on Route 207 along the Eastern Shore. This popular sand-and-cobble beach is noted for its surf. Strong rip tides and currents are common; swimmers and surfers must exercise caution. The park has supervised swimming areas in July and August. Park features include ramped boardwalks, change houses, showers, and flush toilets. The beach park connects to a walking trail on a former railbed and is part of the larger Cole Harbour-Lawrencetown Coastal Heritage Park System.

Clam Harbour Beach Provincial
Clam Harbour Beach Provincial Park is a long, wide, natural sand beach, supervised in July and August (weekends only; subject to change). Visitors can enjoy a picnic area in a field on top of a bluff. Other park facilities include boardwalks, hiking trails, and vault toilets.
Clam Harbour Provincial Park is most famous for the annual Clam Harbour Sandcastle Competition which has taken place each August for over 35 years. Rain or shine, you will see hundreds of contestants and thousands of spectators.
A truly unique and family-friendly feature of Clam Harbour Beach is the warm, shallow tidal stream that runs through one side of the beach. Families often bring inflatables and children love floating down the stream over and over again.
The beach has a MobiMat installed which allows wheelchair accessibility on part of the beach.

Crystal Crescent Beach Provincial Park
Crystal Crescent Beach Provincial Park is situated in Sambro Creek. This beautiful park has 3 white-sand crescent beaches to enjoy with boardwalks to the first 2 beaches and 2 vault-toilet facilities.
The park is also the trailhead for a hike to Pennant Point, 10 km/6 mi each way, allowing you to explore the area’s wildlife including bird watching.

Dollar Lake Provincial Park
Dollar Lake Provincial Park is situated on a large lake 27 km (17 mi) north of Musquodoboit Harbour. The park is the perfect escape in a quiet, woodland setting offering a wide range of outdoor opportunities including camping, boating, canoeing, water-skiing, and fishing. A beautiful sandy beach at the north end of the lake offers freshwater swimming.

Albro Lake Beach
Albro Lake Beach has a small beach site but a spacious lake for all swimmers to enjoy. Amenities include a modernized changing room and a washroom (both of which are available beginning in late May until the end of September from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.) There is also a playground on an open field for children to enjoy. When the wintertime approaches, people like to come to the lake to ice fish.

Birch Cove Beach
Birch Cove Beach is quite popular during the summer months of the year; each day, approximately, 200 people visit it. Beginning in late May until the end of September, washrooms/changing facilities are available for public use from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. In 2013 and 2014, Birch Cove Beach became the first beach in Nova Scotia to be awarded Blue Flag Status
Campbell Point Beach
Campbell Point Beach is an easy-access shallow beach with a swimming area, ideal for young kids. The beach itself has volleyball nets, and woodland trails leading off the beach. The beach is supervised by lifeguards and offers swimming lessons in the summer. The beach hosts an annual sand castle contest.

Chocolate Lake
Chocolate Lake is surrounded by trees that provide a wealth of shade. While the beach itself is minimal, the man-made lake is large enough to welcome all comers. The lake is surrounded by many private homes as well as a Best Western hotel and a city beach. As one of the nearest freshwater lakes to Downtown Halifax, Chocolate Lake is popular with swimmers and families during the summer months. Chocolate Lake offers showers and changing rooms beginning in late May to September 31 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Aside from the lake itself, there is a tennis court and a basketball court available for public use.
Cunard Beach
Cunard Beach is a modest site that has a minimalist charm to it. Located adjacent to Cunard Junior High, this beach is not hard to find but easy to appreciate as one’s own. Public transportation is an available and reliable option.
Cunard Beach has an open strip of sand right next to Williams Lake. On the other side of the beach, there is a large grassy field which is free to use. On Cunard Beach, there is also a volleyball court above a sandy enclosure and a baseball field available for use.
Kearney Lake
Kearney Lake has a sandy beach next to a marvelous lake. At Kearney Lake, there is also an onsite washroom and a playground for children. Alongside the lake is where the Maskwa Aquatic Club can be found (it is a sailing and rowing club). The Maskwa Aquatic Club also offers swimming and lifeguard training. Nearby from the lake, there are several enthralling trails that one could bike on or walk in the Blue Mountain Birch Cove Wilderness Areas. 133 Kearney Lake Rd
Kidston Lake Beach
Kidston Lake Beach has a modest-sized beach area adjacent to the lake (the perimeter of which is lined with trees). Along the entrance point of the lake, there are also several boulders to sit down at (if you want to avoid sand sticking to you). There are several picnic tables in the grassy area perfect for a family day out. Kidston Lake Beach is located just 20 minutes outside of downtown Halifax (in Spryfield).
Kinap Beach
This beach is found next to the Porters Lake provincial park, where there is camping, washrooms, showers, picnic tables, and a boat launch. The small sandy swimming area is supervised by lifeguards on weekdays only. The lake is known for boating and fishing. It is 19 km long but never more than 1 km wide.
Kinap also has a Canoe & Kayak Club a non-profit recreational organization located in a secluded cove on Porters Lake in Nova Scotia. This club offers a wide range of activities such as recreational sprint canoe and kayak programs, a day camp for children aged 5-12 years old

Lake Echo
Lake Echo is a large lake but the beach is smaller in size. It is also home to the Orenda Canoe Club, located next to the beach.

Long Pond Beach
Long Pond Beach only has a small beach area but it is nonetheless a spectacle to see. The lake itself is famous for being the “birthplace of hockey”. Long ago, children from Windsor, Nova Scotia created the game now known as hockey and played it at Long Pond.
Oakfield Provincial Park
Oakfield Provincial Park, on the Shubenacadie Grand Lake, this beach is supervised by a lifeguard throughout the summer. Oakfield is known as a picturesque picnic spot, there are many picnic tables by the water to enjoy a sunny lunch. The name of the lake, Shubenacadie, means “abounding in ground nuts” or “place where the red potato grows” in the Micmac language. There are hard surface walking trails through the park and a wheelchair-accessible boat launch.

Penhorn Lake
Penhorn Lake is spacious, making it ideal for the active swimmer; it also has a wide circumference for those who want to walk/run and just enjoy the view of the lake. There are several benches conveniently placed along the edge of the lake for those who want to relax while keeping a watchful eye on the lake.

Pleasant Drive Beach
Pleasant Drive Beach is on Petpeswick Lake, which has a swimming area with lifeguards on duty during the summer months. The lake is popular with anglers as bullheads, white perch, and brown trout are commonly caught in the lake.

Sandy Lake
Sandy Lake, has a supervised swimming area, picnic tables overlooking the lake, public washrooms, beach volleyball, and a hiking trail that loops around the lake. The lake has bass and speckled trout making it an excellent fishing spot.
The beach is located within the Kinsmen Sandy Lake Park, which offers popular off-leash dog areas.
Shubie Beach
Shubie Beach can be found in Shubie Park next to Lake Charles. Upon entering Shubie Park, a campground will become visible, next to the campground is the beach. Shubie Beach has a distinct welcoming atmosphere. There is an inviting beach next to a wide open lake.
